Fabric Manufacturing

From Fibre to Finished Fabric

We oversee every stage of the fabric manufacturing process — from yarn to finished roll — ensuring consistent quality, precise specifications, and on-time delivery for every order.

Our Capabilities

Precision at Every Stage of Production

Akshara International manages the complete fabric manufacturing cycle across our partner mills. Our technical team monitors each process — knitting, dyeing, compacting, and final inspection — so you receive fabric that meets your exact weight, colour, and quality requirements, every time.

Knitting

Our partner knitting mills operate modern circular and flat-bed knitting machines capable of producing a wide range of fabric constructions — single jersey, double jersey, interlock, rib, pique, fleece, and more. We specify and monitor yarn count, stitch density, GSM, and fabric width to ensure every roll meets your technical brief before it moves to the next stage.

  • Circular & flat-bed knitting capabilities
  • GSM as per Requirement
  • Single jersey, pique, interlock, rib & fleece
  • Yarn count & stitch density monitoring

Colour accuracy you can rely on, batch after batch.

Dyeing

Consistent, repeatable colour is critical in apparel manufacturing. Our dyeing partners use reactive, disperse, and pigment dye systems with computerised colour-matching technology to achieve precise Pantone and brand-colour matches. We oversee shade approval, metamerism checks, and wash-fastness testing to ensure colour performance meets international standards.

  • Computerised colour-matching (Pantone & custom)
  • Reactive, disperse & pigment dye systems
  • Metamerism & light-source shade checks
  • Wash, rub & perspiration fastness testing
Reverse Osmosis Plant

Responsible Water Management in Dyeing

The dyeing process is one of the most water-intensive stages in textile manufacturing. Our dyeing unit is equipped with a dedicated Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant that filters, purifies, and recycles process water — dramatically reducing freshwater consumption and ensuring that all effluent meets stringent environmental discharge standards.

  • Dedicated RO plant installed within the dyeing unit
  • Process water recycled and reused across dye cycles
  • Significant reduction in freshwater consumption
  • Effluent quality meets GOTS and ZDHC standards

Compacting

Knitted fabrics are prone to shrinkage if not properly finished. Our compacting process mechanically pre-shrinks the fabric to a controlled residual shrinkage level — typically under 5% — ensuring that garments retain their shape and size after repeated washing. We verify compacted GSM, width, and shrinkage against your approved specification before the fabric is released for cutting.

  • Residual shrinkage controlled to under 5%
  • GSM & width verification post-compacting
  • Consistent hand-feel & surface finish
  • Suitable for all knitted fabric constructions

Printing

Our printing operations deliver sharp, vibrant, and durable results across a wide range of fabric types and print techniques — including screen printing, digital printing, and discharge printing. High-purity water is essential for consistent colour reproduction and ink performance, and our dedicated RO plant ensures that every print run starts with the cleanest possible water supply.

  • Screen, digital & discharge printing capabilities
  • High-purity water supply via dedicated RO plant
  • Consistent colour reproduction across print runs
  • Wastewater treated and recycled before discharge
Reverse Osmosis Plant

Responsible Water Management in Printing

Our printing unit is equipped with a dedicated Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant that supplies purified water throughout the printing process and treats wastewater before discharge. This ensures our printing operations deliver the highest quality output while minimising environmental impact — conserving water and protecting local water systems.

  • Dedicated RO plant for the printing unit
  • High-purity water supply for consistent print quality
  • Wastewater treated and recycled before discharge
  • Reduced chemical load in discharged effluent

Only defect-free fabric reaches the cutting floor.

Fabric Inspection

Every fabric roll undergoes a rigorous 4-Point System inspection before it is approved for cutting. Our trained inspectors check for weave defects, colour streaks, holes, pilling, and surface irregularities — grading each roll and issuing a detailed inspection report. Rolls that exceed the acceptable defect threshold are rejected and replaced, ensuring your production starts with compliant material.

  • 100% roll inspection using the 4-Point System
  • Defect grading & roll-level reporting
  • Colour, width & weight verification
  • Rejected rolls replaced before production release
