Our Commitment to the Planet

Manufacturing Responsibly. For Generations to Come.

At Akshara International, sustainability is not a policy — it is built into every process, every facility, and every decision we make. From renewable energy to responsible water management, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint without compromising on quality.

Sustainability at Akshara

A Holistic Approach to Responsible Manufacturing

Our sustainability programme spans the full production cycle — from the energy that powers our facilities to the water used in dyeing and printing. We have invested in renewable energy infrastructure and advanced water treatment technology to ensure that our manufacturing operations meet the highest environmental standards today, and are built to exceed them tomorrow.

100%
Renewable Energy Target

Our facilities are progressively transitioning to wind and solar power, reducing dependence on fossil fuels across all manufacturing operations.

RO
Water Purification

Reverse Osmosis plants in our dyeing and printing units recycle and purify process water, dramatically reducing freshwater consumption and effluent discharge.

Zero
Waste-to-Landfill Goal

We are working towards zero fabric waste to landfill through fabric offcut recycling programmes and responsible disposal partnerships.

AZO
Chemical Compliance

All dyes and chemicals used in our processes comply with OEKO-TEX and REACH standards — safe for workers, consumers, and the environment.

RWH
Rainwater Harvesting

Dedicated rainwater harvesting infrastructure captures and stores rainfall across our facilities, reducing dependence on municipal water sources.

Our Promise
"Sustainability is not a feature of our business. It is the foundation of how we operate."

Renewable Energy

Wind & Solar Power Plants

Akshara International has invested in dedicated wind and solar power generation infrastructure to supply clean, renewable energy to our manufacturing facilities. Our solar installations capture energy from rooftop and ground-mounted photovoltaic arrays, while our wind power partnerships bring turbine-generated electricity directly into our production grid. Together, these initiatives are reducing our carbon emissions year-on-year and moving us towards a fully renewable energy supply for all operations.

  • On-site solar PV arrays across manufacturing facilities
  • Wind power partnerships supplying turbine-generated electricity
  • Year-on-year reduction in carbon emissions
  • Renewable energy metering and transparent reporting
  • Phased transition to 100% renewable energy supply

Our Energy Partners

Akshara International works with leading renewable energy developers and certified equipment suppliers to deliver reliable, independently verified clean power to our facilities. Our wind energy is sourced through long-term power purchase agreements with accredited wind farm operators, while our solar infrastructure is designed and maintained by certified photovoltaic system integrators — ensuring every unit of renewable energy is metered, reported, and traceable.

Dyeing — Water Management

Reverse Osmosis Plant: Dyeing

The dyeing process is one of the most water-intensive stages in textile manufacturing. To address this, we have installed a dedicated Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant within our dyeing unit. The RO system filters, purifies, and recycles process water — dramatically reducing freshwater intake and ensuring that effluent discharged from our dyeing operations meets stringent environmental standards. This investment reflects our commitment to responsible water stewardship at every stage of production.

  • Dedicated RO plant installed within the dyeing unit
  • Process water recycled and reused across dye cycles
  • Significant reduction in freshwater consumption
  • Effluent quality meets GOTS and ZDHC standards
  • Continuous water quality monitoring and reporting

Printing — Water Management

Reverse Osmosis Plant: Printing

Our printing operations require high-purity water for consistent colour reproduction and ink performance. We have installed a dedicated Reverse Osmosis plant in our printing unit to supply purified water throughout the printing process and to treat and recycle wastewater before discharge. This ensures that our printing operations are not only producing the highest quality output, but doing so with minimal environmental impact — conserving water and protecting local water systems.

  • Dedicated RO plant for the printing unit
  • High-purity water supply for consistent print quality
  • Wastewater treated and recycled before discharge
  • Reduced chemical load in discharged effluent
  • Aligned with international sustainable printing standards

Water Conservation

Rainwater Harvesting

Water scarcity is one of the defining environmental challenges of our time, and the textile industry is one of its most significant contributors. At Akshara International, we have invested in dedicated rainwater harvesting infrastructure across our manufacturing facilities to capture, store, and utilise rainwater as a supplementary water source. Collected rainwater is filtered and channelled into non-potable process applications — reducing our dependence on municipal water supply and groundwater extraction, and lowering the overall freshwater footprint of our operations.

  • Dedicated rainwater collection and storage infrastructure
  • Filtered rainwater used in non-potable process applications
  • Reduced dependence on municipal and groundwater sources
  • Contributes to overall freshwater footprint reduction
  • Integrated with our broader water management programme
